Regional Meeting on the Development of Digital Skills in Transport and Logistics
As part of the “Digital Skills Reconomy” project, supported by the RECONOMY Programme, implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), a Regional Joint Meeting was held with a focus on developing digital skills and promoting the use of digital tools in the transport and logistics sector.
The meeting brought together partners and representatives of relevant institutions and organizations from the region to discuss the sector’s current digital skills needs, exchange experiences, and identify opportunities for further cooperation.
A key focus of the meeting was the development of training programmes on digital tools and digital skills, tailored to the needs of the transport and logistics sector. Discussions focused on how strengthening digital competencies can support companies and employees in adapting to technological changes and the growing demands of the labour market.
The meeting also addressed the increasing use of digital technologies and systems across transport and logistics processes, including electronic documentation, transport planning, warehouse management, data processing, and customer communication.
Participants exchanged experiences and good practices from their respective countries, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation in addressing digital skills gaps and preparing the workforce for an increasingly digitalized labour market.
The meeting also served as an important step in coordinating the project’s upcoming activities and identifying priorities for the development of training programmes aimed at strengthening the digital capacities of businesses and employees in the transport and logistics sector.
Through the “Digital Skills Reconomy” project, partners aim to contribute to the development of digital skills, enhance business competitiveness, and create better employment and economic development opportunities across the region.
