This research was conducted by the College of Applied Technical Sciences TEMPULLI and the KosovaMotorization Association AMRKS, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

There has been a great need for a comprehensive campaign regarding traffic safety for some time. Apart from the publication of the magazine “Auto Tempulli” for several years, which was the only periodical, namely the only illustrative magazine in the country, so far there have been no such initiatives for road safety at the national level.

This project, through its campaigns, primarily aims to raise traffic culture, familiarize ourselves with everything we need to know, to learn about our behavior and responsibilities as participants in traffic.

The activities were carried out according to the scheme established during the planning and dynamics determined upon the establishment of the FKSRR on May 14, 2013. These activities are planned to be carried out according to the following stages:
First phase
May - June 2013 - Organization of tests - assessment of achievement;
Second phase
July - August 2013 - Production of television shows;
Third phase
September-December 2013 - Publication of research results;
Continuation of activities in schools;
Continuation of production of television shows;
The show "Road Safety"
In order to expand the focus of activities on road safety, Tempulli College in cooperation with KTV has managed to produce a weekly television show 'Road Safety'. Through these television shows, experts have been invited to the studio and special chronicles have been carried out in the field depending on the topic addressed.

Research results

The research was carried out during the spring and summer months of this year, with the selection of MEST, in 40 primary and lower secondary schools. The learning results were assessed in the theoretical part (recognition of traffic signs and rules) and in the practical part (technical skills in riding bicycles). Based on the general analysis of the situation in the field, a poor state of acquisition of theoretical knowledge and development of practical learning regarding rules and behavior on the road was observed. This time, we have focused the research results on the school level, not focusing on the individual performance of students.

Based on the data that emerged from this research and knowing well the current situation in terms of road safety as well as the activities developed in this spirit, we consider that these actions are necessary, expressed through the following conclusions:
-
To develop the necessary preparations for the drafting of the plan and program of the subject "Road Safety" with the aim of including this subject in the school curricula in the 2014/2015 school year;
-
To develop permanent forms of teaching and extracurricular activities with students with the aim of increasing knowledge about a cultured and safe behavior on the road. Institutional support for activities within the framework of the "Road Safety" project, started this year in primary schools in Kosovo;
-
Providing funds for the development of awareness campaigns on road safety. Creating a fund with a symbolic payment from the revenues from the payment of compulsory insurance policies, from road taxes upon vehicle registration;
-
Harmonization of the development of activities on a national scale related to road safety;
-
The greatest possible involvement of institutions, organizations, and civil society in the development of activities for child road safety;
-
The expansion and expansion of global activities for child road safety, including throughout our country.
