Tempulli College Organizes Academic Staff Training on Assessment Methods and ECTS Implementation
Prior to the commencement of the new academic year, Tempulli College organized a training session for its academic staff focusing on student testing and assessment methods, Constructive Alignment, the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), and the implementation of the ECTS Manual.
The training aimed to strengthen the pedagogical and professional competencies of academic staff and promote the alignment of teaching, learning and assessment practices with quality standards in higher education.
Particular emphasis was placed on selecting appropriate assessment methods in line with intended learning outcomes, combining continuous and final assessment, establishing clear and transparent assessment criteria, and applying diverse testing methods according to the nature of each subject. The importance of aligning learning outcomes, teaching and learning activities, and assessment methods was also discussed, alongside the role of constructive feedback in supporting students’ academic progress.

An important part of the training focused on the ECTS framework and the ECTS Manual, with particular attention to understanding and implementing credits in relation to student workload, learning outcomes and the organization of the learning process. The importance of adopting a consistent approach to defining student workload, planning learning activities and linking them to intended learning outcomes was highlighted.
Through this initiative, Tempulli College aims to strengthen academic staff capacity to implement consistent and transparent assessment practices, ensure a common understanding of ECTS requirements, and support a harmonized approach across all study programmes.
The continuous professional development of academic staff and the enhancement of teaching and learning quality remain priorities for Tempulli College, contributing to an improved academic experience and better student learning outcomes.
